We realize that you have many questions regarding your children and we will gladly answer all of them. If the call is an "emergency," we will discuss the situation with you immediately. If it is a more routine question, your pediatrician will call you back as soon as possible. Phone calls are generally returned in the late morning and afternoon hours.
Our practice is always available for after-hour emergency calls. Our answering system will direct your call to the on-call physician. Many medical problems can be addressed over the phone. However, should we feel that the situation cannot wait until the next day, we will direct you to an emergency room for an immediate evaluation.
It is important to make an appointment prior to arriving at our office. We schedule extra time throughout the day for sick visits and can best accommodate those needs with advance notice. Please schedule routine examinations and follow-ups as early as possible so you may arrange for a convenient time. It is our policy to see all children who need immediate attention on a "same day" basis. As hard as we try, there are times when additional sick visits and emergencies may delay your appointment. In these instances, we ask for your patience.
If you are unable to keep your appointment, please give us the courtesy of a phone call to cancel 24 hours in advance. If an appointment is failed, it may be necessary to charge you for the missed appointment.
