Howard S. Traisman, M.D., (Emeritus) Dr. Traisman received his MD from Northwestern University Medical School in 1947 and completed his pediatric residency at Children's Memorial Hospital in 1951. His subspecialty interest includes the management of insulin dependent diabetes of childhood in which he is an internationally recognized authority and is author of a textbook and numerous articles on the subject. Dr. Traisman is Emeritus Professor of Pediatrics. Although no longer seeing patients, Dr. Traisman remains active in mentoring and teaching.

Irwin Benuck, M.D., Ph.D. Dr. Benuck received a Ph.D. in Physiological Psychology in 1974 and undertook two years of postgraduate work in human and behavioral genetics before graduating from Northwestern University Medical School in 1979. He completed his residency at Children's Memorial Hospital in 1982 when he joined the practice. His interest include preventive health and cardiology. He is Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at Northwestern University Medical School.

Edward Traisman, M.D. Dr. Traisman graduated from the Honors Program at Northwestern University Medical School in 1981 after completing his pediatric training at Children's Memorial Hospital in 1984 he joined the practice. His area of interest is pediatric rehabilitation medicine and the care of the chronically ill. Dr. Traisman is an Associate Professor of Clinical Pediatrics and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Northwestern University Medical School.

Teri A. Merens, M.D.
Dr. Merens received her MD from Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine in 1986. Previously, she received an M.S. at Ohio State University in Microbiology. She completed her residency at Loyola University Medical Center in 1989 where she served as Chief Resident of Pediatrics and joined the practice in 1989. Her interests include adolescent medicine and gynecology. Dr. Merens is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at Northwestern University Medical School. Dr. Merens serves as the Clinical Director of our office laboratory.

Valerie A. Kimball, M.D.
Dr. Kimball joins the practice after graduating from medical school at the University of Illinois, Chicago in 2001 and completing her residency at Loyola University Medical Center in 2004. Prior, Dr. Kimball earned a Masters degree in Exercise Physiology at the University of Colorado, Boulder in 1993 following which she worked in muscle physiology research. Dr. Kimball's interests include the care of infants, young children, and educating new parents as well as exercise and fitness in children.
